Siemens Information and Communication Networks (ICN) supplies communication networks and solutions in the widest possible variety of dimensions and configurations, supports network operators and service providers with systems, language networks and data networks, plus servers for the Internet and multi-media, and provides them with the relevant services.

Sales forces in six regional areas mean the company is always close its to approx. 200,000 customers. With over 6,000 employees at 36 locations, around 2,500 of whom are sales staff, 500 consulting and integration experts and 3,000 technical support specialists, ICN covers the whole of Germany.

Mars gets data moving

To manage their complex business, Siemens employs a mix of reporting and analysis called MARS, in which portfolio analyses and geo-analyses play a leading role. "If we only reach 95% of our turnover target, we need to know why. Are particular customers affected or just individual products?" explains Ralf Wienforth, the Project Leader in charge. Siemens COM runs these data analyses with DeltaMaster. The required data is brought together from various SAP systems. Central Controlling, regional offices or users with the requisite rights then access MARS for analyses using DeltaMaster.
