Hapag Lloyd
Ships the size of soccer fields
For more than 150 years now, Hapag Lloyd has followed the credo of its former General Director Albert Ballin, "My field is the world". The international container shipping line connects continents, countries and cultures on routes that traverse the world from east to west.

The company's most recent achievement is the commissioning of one of the world's largest container ships, the Colombo Express. The launch of this "ship of superlatives" took place on April 11 in Singapore: with its 335 meters in length and 43 meters in width it is the size of three soccer fields; it can carry 8,750 standard containers and will work on routes between Asia and Europe.
Avoiding the gross margin trap of empty journeys
Considering such dimensions, it should be clear how important it is to avoid the costs caused by empty runs. If you don't succeed in optimizing shipping schedules, then even apparently attractive contracts will produce negative gross margins time after time. The DeltaMaster solution maps all transports between the distribution centers, including empty runs, in a profit-oriented assessment model. Thus transports with a likely negative gross margin can be identified at the journey planning stage and avoided.
Comprehensive recognition of trouble ahead
The application allows you to directly access the data of all methods of transportation, routes and location parameters in conjunction with all available key figures. This leads to early recognition of negative or insufficient gross margins at the journey planning stage.
